This weeks hotspot is Buona Forchetta! Buona Forchetta is an amazing Italian Eatery with an original location in South Park. There are several other locations in Liberty station as well as Encinitas.
The main location located is nestled in a corner of South Park, the building is mostly patio seating with a some indoor seating. The theme is very rustic Italian. There is normally a wait but it’s never that long, you are able to make reservations of parties of 6 or more but anything else is first come first serve.
The food is truly amazing! If you love Italian food, this place takes it to the next level. I’ve never personally been to Italy, so I’m only able to compare the food to other restaurants around San Diego and New York. Everything is handmade from the past to the Neapolitan style pizza. I tried the Sofia pizza a Fattore salad and a Linguine pesto pasta. The pizza is not like everyday “American” pizza, it is meant to be eaten with a fork and a knife but it was so good! the dough is perfectly cooked and the sauces and toppings are perfectly paired! The salad was just right and the pasta was home made and tasty!
If you are trying to find a new Italian eatery, new date night spot, or a place to impress some company I recommend giving this restaurant a try!
